Leaven has merged into CCL

To help more organisations embrace hybrid cloud and use multiple cloud technologies and platforms, we have simplified the way we show up for our clients, providing a more seamless experience.

Bringing together our cloud services (CCL) and consulting business (Leaven) together, in October 2023 we merged Leaven into CCL and retired the Leaven brand. We continue to offer the same services that Leaven provided within CCL, and remain just as committed to public cloud, our public cloud partners, and continuing to develop our public cloud capabilities..

Our History

Founded by Darryl Swann in 1990, Computer Concepts Limited grew quickly from its IT engineering origins, opening a data centre in Christchurch in 2003, providing the launchpad for continued expansion and the formation of an IaaS platform serving 500 clients, including iconic South Island business such as Farmlands, Ravensdown, HW Richardson, LINZ, Lyttelton Port Company, Christchurch City Council, and Canterbury District Health Board.

As Christchurch-based Swann brought his vision to reality, in Auckland, Revera founders Roger Cockayne and Wayne Norrie – then Hitachi Data Systems managers – saw the future and built a ‘one-to-many’ IT services platform. It was the genesis of New Zealand’s cloud infrastructure build-out and next generation cloud services.

Revera was acquired by Spark (when it was previously known as Telecom) in 2013, while CCL was acquired in 2015, with both acquisitions helping Spark further establish its IT services and cloud capabilities.

In early 2019, Computer Concepts and Revera merged, to create CCL, and a combined team of more than 700 people delivering ICT and cloud services for organisations – public and private, small and large – across the country.

In mid-2020, CCL partnered with cloud and business transformation consultancy Leaven, another member of Spark Business Group, helping establish an end to end cloud proposition that encompasses cloud adoption and migration, digital innovation, and business transformation – complementing the pre-existing managed service offerings to deliver a comprehensive proposition to clients.

Our Security Commitment

CCL is certified as being compliant with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for our Data Centres and Service Desk. This provides assurance to our clients that our information security systems meet the international standard.
