CCL wins Azure Migration Award at the Microsoft Partner Awards 2021, recognising its work with Dunedin City Council.

Microsoft New Zealand has celebrated the outstanding achievements of its Aotearoa partner network at the recent 14th annual Microsoft Partner Awards.

CCL took home the overall winner’s trophy in the Azure Migrate category for its role in Dunedin City Council’s digital strategy and phased migration to Microsoft Azure.

The Microsoft New Zealand Partner Awards recognise innovative partners who are demonstrating inventive use of digital technology.

While 2021 was a challenging year, that didn’t stop Microsoft’s incredible partners from delivering excellent work for their customers, helping them to transform, boost their resilience, and achieve more.

CCL’s work to support Dunedin City Council is a perfect example of this endeavour.

Looking to modernise its entire enterprise in the cloud, Dunedin City Council (DCC) partnered with CCL and its cloud transformation business unit Leaven to establish a platform in Azure, paving the way for new ways of working, modern digital services, and work-from-anywhere flexibility.

Using Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework to steer the migration project, CCL delivered a security-hardened, policy-enforced Microsoft Azure platform that helped the council optimise its IT operating costs.

“Public sector organisations recognise the opportunity technology creates to provide greater access to important services and engage more with citizens,” Matt Bostwick, Partner Director at Microsoft New Zealand said. “Using Azure to create an accessible, scalable cloud platform, CCL has enabled people to interact with Dunedin City Council in new ways. It’s an investment in tech capability that Dunedin’s people will benefit from for years to come.”

Heather Graham, CCL’s CEO, said she was pleased to see Microsoft champion its partners and celebrate successful projects that were making an enduring difference to clients and NZ Inc.

“Microsoft has been a key contributor to the success of CCL’s public cloud programme, working with us to help ambitious organisations develop cloud confidence by enabling them to embrace cloud platforms and technologies no matter where they may be on their cloud journeys,” Graham said. “We are delighted for our work with the Dunedin City Council to be recognised by Microsoft and look forward to helping support the Council as it takes its next steps in its transformation.”
