Each summer CCL selects top tech students to participate in its summer internship programme. The programme aims to provide a valuable stepping stone for the students to launch their careers in the tech industry. This summer, the interns worked alongside seasoned professionals and contributed to real-world projects from software engineering to project management.
Holistic learning
One of the unique aspects of CCL’s internship programme is its emphasis on holistic learning. Rather than being siloed in one specific department, interns have the chance to explore different areas of the company and see how they inter-connect. This approach allows students to gain a better understanding of the company’s operations and how the various departments work together to support customers. One of the interns, Max Bastida, points out that:
This internship was a great way to get a sense of the variety of work in tech. I got to experience introductions into multiple different areas and learn about the sort of work that was being done. I enjoyed the opportunity to learn for the sake of developing my own knowledge while being able to contribute to projects.

Rory Holmes also described how the wide-ranging tech opportunities he experienced in CCL’s supportive team culture provided him with a positive learning environment.

The friendly people here have provided me with a comfortable place to learn and explore my interests to the fullest, while always being open to any questions that I might have.“

The role of mentoring in career development
CCL’s internship programme places great importance on excellent mentorship for career growth. Each intern is paired with a mentor who provides guidance and support throughout the programme. This allows interns to learn from experienced professionals and receive valuable feedback on their work.
Janelle Kwan, an aspiring software engineer, shared how the support and opportunities provided by CCL allowed her to gain the experience needed to start her career with confidence.
